It's almost here: The 12 Days of Christmas, 2012!!

Ho Ho Ho! It's that time of year again; time for the Holden's Landing 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza! This year, it was too big for 12 days, so there are 2 additional bonus days. 

Specials, discounts, giveaways, contests, holiday items, guests, fun themed stockings and more are planned.  Here's a quick run down of the when and where (all times are US EST): 

* Day 1: Friday, 11/23 - Green Friday - why celebrate Black Friday when you can save some green while being green? Great deals on eco-friendly cloth diapers! All deals expire 11/25 at 3 pm est.  HL on HC

* Day 2: Saturday, 11/24 - Deck the Halls - embroidered holiday decorations and more, all day  in our etsy shop.  Also, list your favorite small businesses for holiday shopping in the Small Business Saturday thread which will be running on our Facebook page

* Day 3:  Sunday, 11/25 - Christmas Around the World - Special holiday nappies/diapers, plus an Earth*School Winter Holidays Around the World giveaway in our HC shop.   Special deals on a trio of custom diapers in our etsy shop

* Day 4: Monday, 11/26 - Coupon Drawing #1 - in our HC shop

* Day 5: Tuesday, 11/27 - A Christmas Story - Storybook themed diapers/nappies and gift sets in both our etsy and HC shops

* Day 6: Wednesday, 11/28 - 6 Packs - Specials on custom 6-packs of diapers/nappies in our etsy shop

* Day 7: Thursday, 11/29 - Coupon Drawing #2 - on our facebook page

* Day 8: Friday, 11/30 - Fantasy Friday - Amazing fantasy diapers/nappies and more in our HC shop, 4 pm est

* Day 9: Saturday, 12/1 - Holiday Open House - Holiday guest stocking featuring some of my favorite artisans: Rising Sun Earthworks, Dashing Dachs, Huckleberry Knits, KimberlyR, Boutique Linnea, Tickety Bu, The Cloth Canoe and Blue Room Creations.  Stocking at 4 pm est in our HC shop

* Day 10: Sunday, 12/2 - Pretties Holiday Giveaway - Holiday nappy giveaway located here, with lots of fun and surprises on our facebook page.  5 - 6 pm est US

* Day 11: Monday, 12/3 - Coupon Drawing #3 - on Twitter @HoldensLanding

* Day 12: Tuesday, 12/4 - Winter Warm Up - Earth*School Winter curriculum drawing on our facebook page, OBV scarves and other winter warmers in our etsy shop

* Day 13: Wednesday, 12/5 - Bonus! Pajama Party!! - PJ sets and night nappies/diapers in our HC shop , 8 pm est

* Day 14: Thursday, 12/6 - St. Nicholas Day - Holiday themed drawings and giveaways on our facebook page, Twitter @HoldensLanding, and our HC shop

It's beginning to look a lot like ...

I won't say it, but I've been getting an awful lot of holiday-specific embroidery done this week! Can't wait for all the holiday events:

We've hit 2000+ fans on facebook, so it's time for another giveaway (and maybe this will spur me to revive the much-neglected HL blog!)!

In 6 words or less ... take 2

So in June we had a contest -- create a tag line for Holden's Landing using 6 words or less.  The entries, both here and on facebook, were awesome.  I used a few of them for theme stockings (Peace, Love & Nappiness was my favorite, with The Dye's the Limit coming in a close second!), but still ... nothing stuck as the tagline for HL. 

I am far too picky.

The fact remains - HL still needs a good tag line.  So ... it's time for contest #2!

The contest is the same: Create a tag line/brand for HL using 6 words or less, and post your entry(ies) to the comments section or to the thread on facebook.  You can post as many entries as you like.  Contest is open from now until Friday, February 10th at noon est.  The winner will receive a $30 gift certificate, good on any instock or custom item. 

So put your creative thinking caps on and hit me with your best shot! (I am so terrible at this!)

I was supposed to think about what I wanted to do for this giveaway over the weekend, but the 2 days just seemed to get away from me.  So ... hmmm ... let's see ...

Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th.  My parents are closing the sale on the house that I spent the 2nd half of my childhood in today.  They moved about a month ago and are thrilled!

20 years ago, on a Friday the 13th, I ______________________.  The first person to correctly answer gets a coupon code for 13% off any instock item in our etsy shop (expires on the next Friday the 13th in 2012 - April 13th).

20 years ago, on a Friday the 13th, I got my driver's license.  Everyone at school was teasing me saying it was bad luck to have my test on that day.  And I got the scariest tester too.  I remember him pulling me over on Nottingham Terrace to yell at me because I took the (hairpin) turn too slowly.  I did get pass though - I believe that the going to slow thing was my only infraction :P
